PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
Welcome to the Canberra Region Morris Minor Club. The club was formed in 1980 to encourage and assist in the preservation and enjoyment of original and modified Morris Minors. Anyone who has owned a Morris Minor for any length of time will probably be quite fond of their vehicle. The club was formed by people who love Morris Minors because of their uniqueness, their reliability and their durability. It’s a club for people who want to enjoy their Morris Minors and join others with similar interests. Last year, the Canberra Region Morris Minor Club celebrated its 30 year anniversary. That's a remarkable achievement, considering it's 62 years since the first modern Morris, an MM series, commonly known as a lowlight, came off the production line in Oxford, England, in September 1948. The first Morris Minors arrived in Australia the following year. Our club caters for all Morris Minor owners, whether they want to maintain a vehicle that is as authentic as possible or if they are interested in modifying a Morris Minor. Our members are able and very willing to provide advice and assistance to people from either group. For example, our members have regular Swoops, where we gather at a member's garage to help them with their restoration. We have access to a small range of spare parts to help keep Morris Minors moving and an extraordinary level of technical expertise and support for those who are less technically minded.
